Zombie AI: What It Is and What One Tool Actually Does

Zombie AI tools turn photos into short fictional zombie stories. Here is what the term covers, how our fixed two-photo story works, the target specs, the candidate price and the honest launch status.

Zombie AI is the name for AI video tools that turn ordinary photos into short fictional zombie stories: a couple, a family, or two friends caught in a world that has ended, finding each other one last time. The zombie is the setting, not the point. The point is the reunion — recognition, an embrace, and a memory of life before.

What the term covers

"Zombie AI" shows up in a few different places, and they are easy to mix up:

  • Photo-to-video story generators. This is the category we are in. You upload photos, and a model renders a short film built around a scripted encounter. The photos are real people; the story is invented.
  • Character and avatar tools. These build a reusable digital character you can put in many scenes. Useful for creators who want a series rather than a single clip.
  • Game and asset generators. These make zombie sprites, textures, levels or NPC dialogue for games. Nothing to do with your own face.
  • Pure prompting interfaces. A general video model with a zombie preset. You write the shot yourself and get whatever the model returns.

Our product is deliberately the first kind and nothing else. We are not a character lab, not a game-asset shop, and not a general-purpose video model. We make one short film out of two photos you choose.

What our fixed story actually does

Most photo-to-video tools give you a text box and hope you write a good prompt. We took the opposite approach for the first release: the story is written for you, and only the two people are yours.

The planned Zombie Love Story runs four beats:

  1. Encounter. The two characters meet in an abandoned setting.
  2. Recognition. The one who remembers sees the other's face and understands what has changed.
  3. Embrace. They hold each other; the camera closes in.
  4. Memory. The film turns back to a warm moment from before the world changed.

The cast is chosen by you: the first photo plays the character who turns, the second plays the character who remembers, and Swap character roles reverses them before you submit. Because the story is fixed, the first release has no prompt box and no model picker — fewer ways to get a bad result, and a shorter distance from "two photos" to "a finished clip".

There is also a deliberate limit on who can be in the video: only adults, and only people who agreed to have their image processed by AI and appear in a generated video. No children's photos, no public figures, no private photos of other people.

Target specifications

Everything below is a target specification for the planned release, not a claim about output that already exists:

  • Length: 15 seconds.
  • Resolution: 720p.
  • Aspect ratio: 9:16 vertical.
  • Container: MP4.
  • Audio: the planned template soundtrack (licensing remains a launch check), muxed into the file in your browser as a separate final step. A render whose music step failed is labelled silent and offered a retry — it is never presented as a finished music delivery.
  • Model: a single planned fast model for this template. We do not advertise a model picker we do not have.

We only move from "target" to "verified" after real output at that exact spec has been produced, inspected and priced against real cost.

The candidate price

The candidate offer is a one-time purchase of 100 credits for $12.99, sized to cover one Zombie Love Story render. It is not a subscription, not a monthly plan, and there is no automatic renewal. If technical failures occur — a rejected photo, a review timeout, a provider error — the credits come back to your balance automatically. Credit refunds are not refunds to your card; cash refunds require separate support review under the applicable policy.

While this is a candidate price, the credit pack is not on sale and checkout is closed.

The honest launch status

Here is the part most "zombie AI" pages skip: generation and checkout are currently closed on our site, and we would rather say so plainly than take an order we cannot honour.

The tool works locally today. You can pick two photos, check them in your browser, assign the roles, swap them, and read the specs and the candidate price. What is not open is the paid render, and it stays closed until a set of launch checks pass:

  • a real sample rendered at the target spec, with licensed reference media and music we can trace;
  • real end-to-end runs on real, authorised photos, with the quality and cost bills attached;
  • a real, approved payment product, with signed webhooks, replay protection and refunds that actually work;
  • verified handling and deletion of photos and outputs across our storage and our providers;
  • verified delivery of a file with sound on real mobile devices.

Until then the pages label an outline as an outline. A storyboard, a role assignment or a thumbnail is not a sample, and we do not present one as a finished clip. We also do not publish claims about how many people used a similar tool or how well it performs for them, because we have no verified numbers of our own.

Common questions

Is anything free? Photo selection and preview cost nothing and happen locally in your browser. Paid generation is what we are still validating, and we are not taking orders before that is done.

Do I need a prompt or a model choice? No. Both are fixed for the first story.

Can I post it to social media? Yes, once you download it. Download the MP4 and upload it yourself; there is no automatic publishing. Label it as AI-generated fiction, and make sure both people pictured know you are sharing it.

What happens to my photos? Before submission they stay in your browser (a local draft that expires after 24 hours). After submission they are stored in Cloudflare R2 and passed through APIMart to the configured video-generation service, including the Seedance asset-library review, and to the configured automated safety service. Providers apply their own processing and retention policies, and we cannot claim every provider-side copy is erased the moment you delete a local file. Read our privacy policy and send deletion requests to support.

Whose photos can I use? Use only consenting adults’ photos that you have permission to process. Safety review is not an identity or age verification guarantee. Results are fictional recreations, not statements by the people pictured.

Not sure which kind of tool you actually need? Compare the four things people call zombie AI first.
